Spatial Services

Spatial Services provides spatial and land information services for New South Wales.

Authoritative land and spatial information is a vital tool that enables the community, business and government to derive maximum benefit from land and property, to generate economic growth and prosperity.

Our customer service focus

Spatial Services' integrated framework connects the people of NSW to a comprehensive package of spatial services including property information, surveying and mapping to individuals, businesses and government agencies. You can access Spatial Services online services by visiting the SIX Maps Service Portal.

Surveying standards

Spatial Services implements and monitors standards for the survey industry in NSW. It does this by conducting examination surveys in known areas of unreliable survey data and audit surveys of recently lodged plans.

State Control Survey data, an essential tool for surveyors, is available to registered users online, as well as by traditional methods. A comprehensive network of permanent marks with known latitude, longitude and height, the State Control Survey provides certainty and confidence when establishing property locations, boundaries and the construction of public infrastructure.

Mapping and spatial information

As the official source of spatial and land information for NSW, Spatial Services is responsible for maintaining cadastral boundaries and topographic data of the state. It provides imagery, elevation data, addressing information and a customised mapping service that tailors spatial information to meet specific needs.

This comprehensive and authoritative range of online and hard copy mapping products and services supports a vast range of community, business and government activity – everything from tourism and land management, to electoral boundaries and bush fire control.

Innovative projects

The Foundation Spatial Data Framework (FSDF) is being used to streamline government processes in terms of planning, design and modelling for the future needs of NSW.
